Light Type: GITD
Light Class: Enhancement/Decoration

PLEASE NOTE: These are no longer for sale from the original vendor. You may be able to find them in other places on the Internet.

These cool little silicone rubber O-rings contain a Glow In The Dark (GITD) substance so that when they are exposed to light for a few minutes, they glow like crazy. An excellent addition to any flashlight that has a shelf, groove, or visible space to place them, they allow you to more quickly find your light (or anything else) in the dark.

These are not meant to replace the current O-rings that are used for waterproofing on a flashlight, since they would then be hidden from view and that defeats the purpose of the GITD substance. If you choose to replace an environmental seal O-ring with one of these GITD O-rings, you do so AT YOUR OWN RISK since the light may not retain its original water resistance.

The come in the following sizes, listed out to match the picture above:

  • 1 inch
  • 3/4 inch
  • 5/8 inch
  • 7/16 inch
  • 0g
  • 4g
  • 6g
  • 10g

Turn out the lights and this is what you get:

Here they are installed on a Peak LED Solutions Caribbean (still my favorite carry-around flashlight). In the first picture you'll see a 4g around the tail post, and a 7/16 stretched a lot to fit around the base of the head (they are very stretchy, within limits). The second picture shows the one at the base of the head again, and a 5/8 between the reflector and lens which I used to replace the lens seal. The O-ring under the lens charges while the light is on and gives quite a glow when the light is turned off.

Here are two other lights (Fenix and JetBeam) with O-rings installed, this time around the switch boots. These are both 7/16.

A 1" O-ring fits nicely around the barrel of a Surefire G2 in the space between the switch cap and the body, and is well protected, but doesn't get in the way at all.

These O-rings are for sale from a member of CandlePowerForums who is no longer selling them and I am not aware of any other place to get them.
