PLEASE NOTE: The modifications section
of this site is no longer updated or maintained.
Some of this information is rather old and out-of-date.
This is now only an archive of the Modifications
section which was a regular part of FlashlightReviews.com
back in the "early days" of LEDs when white 5mm
LEDs first came onto the market and LED flashlights were (believe
it or not) hard to find.

Modifying
flashlights can be a fun, entertaining and fairly inexpensive
hobby. This is a list of the various modifications made to
flashlights (by myself and others). Frequently they involve
the conversion from incandescent to LED bulbs.
LEDs have
the advantage of being more durable that incandescent bulbs
and also consume less power. Of course, they don't produce
as much light as incandescent lights, so they may not be acceptable
for use under certain circumstances.
None of
these mods are "for sale" unless indicated. The
ones made by myself were made for my own entertainment and
are presented here only for your entertainment and enjoyment.
THANK
YOU everyone who has sent in mods for display on FlashlightReviews.com.
I am no longer accepting mods for addition to this page due
to time and space constraints.
Skill
Level Key:
1
= Beginner level mod - little or no soldering needed. Good
for learning the skills for the next level.
2 = Intermediate
level mod - need to be familiar with soldering and cutting
plastic. A rotary tool would be handy.
3 = Advanced
level mod - may require custom circuits or very precise work.
Many of
these modifications were originally described in the CandlePowerForums.
