This mod is provided by Trevor N. (Aragorn, CPF # 561).
Trevor has taken a Dorcy CoolBlue aluminum flashlight, removed
the reflector and replaced it with 3 white Luxeon Stars.
Here we see a close-up of the bezel. The Luxeon Stars are
potted in place with silicone caulk.
Inside the head... Here we see the wiring and silicone holding
everything in place. |
| Under the body cap. Trevor has soldered the connections directly
to the battery holder internal contacts. |
The mod utilizes an empty bulb base for the positive and negative
connections. |
| Here is the battery carrier. One of the batteries has been
replaced with a dummy battery (aluminum foil) to drive the Luxeon
Stars at 3.6 volts with rechargeable batteries or 4.5 volts
with alkalines. |
The mod has pretty impressive light output.
Many thanks to Trevor N. for sharing this project with FlashlightReviews.com
and its visitors!
